Description

Anadromous flies are designed to capture trout, salmon and char that live in salt water and then enter fresh water streams to spawn. These include Atlantic salmon, steelhead, sea-run browns, eastern brook trout, some arctic char, coastal cutthroat, Dolly Varden and the five Pacific Salmon.

The most popular belief is that these salmonids do not eat food during their spawning activities. Because of this lack of interest in feeding, most anadromous flies are designed to entice these great sea fish, at the very peak of their beauty and physical perfection, to strike by triggering their visual and auditory predator instincts.
