‘An Indian-Summer Brown’ by Dave Whitlock
On a warm October afternoon when I was 17 (65 years ago), I caught my first brown trout on a hopper. On that day, standing in the Big Hole River near Melrose, Montana, I started dreaming of someday painting that scene of my beautiful male brown and the incredible Rocky Mountain fall yellows, golds, crimsons and olives.
And now it’s made its way to my easel!
Original art piece, hand-drawn by Dave. The media is one of his favorites – fine art pencil – because he loves the detail and brilliant colors he can coax from his pencils.
Unframed. 24″ X 27″
