Description
“Sea Trout Flies” by Dave Whitlock
Sea trout are also called sea-run browns and live much of their lives in the open ocean, returning to their fresh-water birth streams to spawn.
It is this fresh-water voyage of large, robust, anadromous trout that attracts fly fishing anglers and fly tyers. Because they are not generally feeding on their spawning run and because they have a brown trout’s nature, catching them on attractor wet flies, streamers and nymphs can be incredibly challenging.
