Fish, especially trout and bass, often leap out of the water to capture fast flying or hovering adult dragonflies. For several hours on a stream one day I sat transfixed watching a 15-inch brown trout holding near a large, midstream boulder that was alive with beautiful red dragonflies, as he leapt up and snatched them in flight. It was remarkable how that brown could see, aim and perfectly time itself to catch these insects speeding a foot or two above the water. What a cool experience!
